The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs all Albanian and foreign citizens that the borders of Albania will be fully open to receive tourists during the tourist season.

In an announcement on “Facebook”, the Ministry states that all tourists can visit Albania without any entry restrictions, ie without the Covid test and without any other special document.

Notification of MFA:

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs notifies all Albanian and foreign citizens that to visit Albania, there are no entry restrictions, no Covid-19 Test is required and no other special documents.

For all those interested in traveling to Albania, we announce that Albania opened its borders on June 1, 2020.
There are no entry restrictions, be it the Covid-19 test or a separate document.

For all individuals entering Albania by land:
The obligation of 14-day quarantine does not apply except in special cases by order of the health authorities;
No specific documents are required at border crossings to enter Albanian territory; In case of entry into Albania from the land borders, find out about the regulations of other countries where you will cross during the trip, as they vary from country to country. Citizens traveling by land to Albania should obtain prior information at the Embassies of the countries through which they will transit, in order to be clear on the rules set by these countries in the context of the pandemic.

Individuals traveling by sea:
They should communicate with the Albanian Representations in the countries where they will leave by boat or contact the respective Embassies.

For travelers traveling from third countries by air and using one of the international airports as transit, keep in mind that:
They will not be allowed to leave the airport transit area and will not be allowed to continue their journey if the next destination is another Schengen area, as this movement is not considered transit but entry into the Schengen area, hence the airport authorities they will bring them back to the places where they came from.

All passengers who are allowed to enter the territory of the Republic of Albania, in addition to complying with the protocols of international standards that airlines apply anywhere in the world, must apply these rules:
If the passenger shows previously specified COVID-19 symptoms, he / she will not be allowed to continue the journey and enter Albania;

The airport has set up automated points where passengers can be provided with a mask (mandatory for indoor environments) as well as disinfectants
At the time of check-in a statement on their status regarding COVID-19 will be signed before they are provided with a boarding pass;
Passengers during their stay at the airport must respect the social distance of 1.5 meters throughout their stay at the airport.

Priority is given to the elderly, people in need and families with minor children; Online check-in is encouraged to avoid queues and physical contact.
It is required that in case passengers show symptoms, then not to travel but to follow the rules set by the respective states.

Starting June 1, 2021:

Restriction of movement throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, from 23:00 to 06:00. Movement is allowed only for health or emergency reasons. Use the E-Albania application for specific permissions.

The obligation to maintain a protective barrier outdoors is removed. The obligation to wear the mask indoors as well as on public transport will continue. It is recommended to wear the mask wherever social distancing cannot be maintained, as well as for those who have not yet received both doses of the vaccine and who are considered persons at risk.

Nightclubs, discos, continue to remain closed. Music is allowed until 22:00. Bars, restaurants are closed from 23:00 to 06:00, with the exception of “delivery” service.

Starting June 15, 2021:

Outdoor gatherings of 10 people are made by 50 people, respecting the rules of social distance in accordance with the protocols of the Institute of Public Health.

Starting July 1, 2021:

Police hours are postponed from 24.00 – 06:00.
The schedule for the music does not change, it will remain at 22:00.
Sports championships are allowed with the presence of fans with reduced capacities up to 30% according to the IPH protocol.
