The Commission for the Evaluation of Candidates at the Democratic Party, yesterday concluded the process for the evaluation of candidates for political representation of the Democratic Party at central and local level.

The working period of the Commission, divided into 3 phases, lasted from August 3 to October 22, 2020. On behalf of the DPA Presidency, I express my appreciation and gratitude for the participation and massive engagement of Democrats in this process, for all candidates. including proving once again that the Democratic Party is the most vital political force with exceptional human resources, as well as for the members of the Candidate Evaluation Commission for the voluminous work and dedication carried out throughout this process.

Today, the Commission has submitted the Evaluation Report of the candidates to the Chairman and Secretary General of the DPA, for the follow-up of further procedures according to the Statute.

The Commission Report shows that:

A) A total of 498 candidates have been confirmed by the membership, who have been certified by the Commission to meet the statutory criteria for political representation of the DP.

B) Out of 498 candidates confirmed by the membership and who meet the statutory criteria for political representation, the Commission has estimated that 299 candidates from the lists of each Branch and 27 candidates from the national list (326 in total), to be proposed to the decision-making bodies of the Party to be in the final list of DP representation in the elections.

The report of the Commission will be subject to discussion and decision-making of the Presidency and the National Council, according to the provisions of the DPA Statute and the legal deadlines for determining the candidates in the elections.

Due to the interest of the media and public opinion, on the evaluation of the Candidate Evaluation Commission for the candidates from the special national list (members of the Presidency and the Parliamentary Group 2017), which have been confirmed by the Party membership, the evaluation made by the Commission is as lower:
