A tragic accident occurred last night after a collision between two cars near St.Pölten in Austria.

Two people lost their lives in this accident, which happened on Sunday morning in Ëestautobahn (A1).

Five other people were injured, some seriously, the Fire Department in St. Louis announced. Pölten-Stadt, write the Austrian media.

According to the police, the accident came after two cars collided, one of which is said to be moving in the wrong direction, albinfo reports.

The collision occurred around 3:30 a.m. between Loosdorf (Melk County) and St.Pölten, on the way to Vienna.

According to the Austrian police, a car with a number plate of Albanian license plates, which was stopped for a vacation in Völlerndorf, is thought to have been wrongly locked on the highway.

On the other hand, a car that was moving in their direction hit the Albanian car, in which there were four people with Albanian citizenship.

Two of them were left dead. Two others and three Romanians who were from the second vehicle involved in the accident received serious injuries, albinfo.at reports.

Emergency crews also arrived at the scene, from where firefighters removed the victims from the vehicle, while the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

The identities of the victims and the injured have not yet been revealed.
