GREQI – Greqia është përfshirë nga moti i keq, pasi stuhitë e forta dhe reshjet e dendura kanë goditur shumë ishuj, duke shkaktuar probleme serioze. Paros dhe Mykonos, dy nga destinacionet më të njohura turistike të vendit, janë bllokuar në kaosin që ka lënë pas stuhia. Në Paros, nga orët e pasdites, qielli u errësua dhe shiu shpejt ktheu rrugët në përrenj të rrëmbyeshëm. Naoussa dhe Kolymbithres ishin epiqendra e fenomenit, ku përmbytjet, mbeturinat, balta dhe makinat e përmbytura morën qarkullim të pamundur.

Qendra Operacionale e Zjarrfikëses ka marrë një mori thirrjesh për ndihmë, dhe prania e forcave të Policisë, Mbrojtjes Civile dhe Zjarrfikësve ishte e dukshme gjatë gjithë ditës. Një helikopter i EMAK u dërgua për të ndihmuar, por kushtet ekstreme të motit e bënë të pamundur uljen e tij.
Për shkak të përmbytjeve, autoritetet vendosën mbylljen e të gjitha shkollave në ishull për ditën e martë. Disa orë më pas, Mykonos ndodhi të përjetonte një situatë të ngjashme: breshëri dhe shiu goditën ishullin, duke shkaktuar pamje kaosi. GREECE – Greece has been hit by severe weather as heavy storms and intense rainfall have swept across many islands, causing serious disruptions. Paros and Mykonos, two of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, have been overwhelmed by the chaos left in the wake of a powerful storm. In Paros, from the early afternoon hours, the sky darkened and the heavy rain quickly turned the roads into rushing torrents. Naoussa and Kolymbithres were at the epicenter of the storm, with floods, debris, mud, and cars being swept away by the water.
For hours, traffic on the main roads was impossible as streams swelled, roads split in two, and rocks detached from the cliffs, making it extremely difficult for rescue teams to access the area. The Fire Brigade’s Operations Center was flooded with calls, and the presence of the Hellenic Police, Civil Protection, and Firefighters remained intense throughout the day. A helicopter from EMAK was sent to the island, but it couldn’t land due to the extreme weather conditions.
As a result of the massive flooding, schools on the island were closed for Tuesday. A few hours later, Mykonos followed the same path. Hail and rain hit the island fiercely, causing similar chaotic scenes. Furious torrents “swept” away cars, which were stuck in the narrow streets. In some places, water levels exceeded a meter, turning roads into rivers and making it impossible for both vehicles and pedestrians to pass. Dozens of residents were trapped in their homes, unable to escape, while authorities received constant calls for help.
